About

We are a group of Young Adults (YAs) in Singapore who have graduated from the Dunman High Girl Guides Company. We are now embarking on starting up a new chapter in the school to explore the possibilities in the empowerment of girls. :)

Hello all :)

Our chapter has just shared our site with the other YAs at AGM last Saturday so that's probably why we see more readers now. :)

As this is a new site for us to manage, there has been little updates.

But no worries, more updates will be up soon by this week~

Cy'all soon!

Happy World Thinking Day 2013

Here's wishing everyone a Happy World Thinking Day!

May the renewal of our Promise serve as a good reminder for all of us. :)

Have you thought about your fellow sisters-in-guiding and expressed your thanks on this very special day?

13 Feb: Foot drills, Pioneering

(Rescheduled post)

This was the first skills training of the year for us. :)

The first half of our activity was foot drills in preparation for the annual Thinking Day contingent at school. Doing foot drills after such a long time felt really bizarre and strange somehow. Of course, though we made mistakes here and there, it didn’t take us long to get used to it again. It felt really good to do it well after practice!

The second part of our activity was pioneering. Most of us were really excited to be doing pioneering after a long time, especially the Year 5s who have not done any pioneering since having passed down in Junior High. Hence, being able to participate in it after such a long time was a familiar, yet refreshing experience!

We were building a tower and since it was kind of high to some of us even after years of pioneering, we were worried about climbing up to tie the structure.

However, those who were initially afraid managed to overcome their fears under the persuasion and encouragement of our fellow YAs and climb up! The nice view and the cooling breeze that we experience at the top of the tower even while completing the structure was worth it after all! :) Although we did not manage to complete our structure due to the rainy weather, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

It was really fun and enjoyable and I can’t wait to do pioneering again! :)
