Last Chapter Of Our Story...?
Hello everyone :)
Yesterday was the 2015 Passing Down Ceremony + Celebrations, which the new secretary will blog about in the next post! As this will be my last blog post as the 3rd batch Secretary of DHS Chapter, let us take a trip down memory lane and revisit the activities carried out by the 3rd batch of YAs since 2014 :)
Although there are only 5 of us who chose YAs as our first CCA and half of us are always unable to turn up for weekly Wednesday CCA sessions, I am really glad we decided to join back as YAs together. Time spent with the other 10 of you is always nothing short of amazing. 1.5 years have passed in the blink of an eye; together we have executed self-initiated activities, mentored the juniors, and most importantly had fun and created unforgettable memories.
I'm sure we all remember how we played games with the seniors during our first YA activity, how we wrapped Cheryl and Tsepuay in toilet roll, how we had so much fun splashing water at one another, and of course the steamboat dinner we had at Sukiya afterwards! That was a great start to our YA journey :)

Our first jihe in 2014!

I'm sure we all remember the day we went for the 2014 Induction and Annual General Meeting at HQ together! We met other YAs who got inducted together with us, and learnt more about the Young Adults system. This was also the day we were officially inducted as YAs and received our valuable YAs badge :)

I love how happy we always look when we're together <3 |

I'm sure we all remember the 2014 Passing Down Ceremony, when the EXCO members received our roles. We all had great dreams and hopes for the chapter, and were beyond excited to start our term of service and of course do our best!

We are one big family <3
|
I'm sure we all remember the 46th Anniversary Campfire, which we were each a sub-committee I/C for. It was a great experience watching old guides gather together again to sing nostalgic campfire songs and relive memories, some even with their children. 20 years down the road, will we do that too? :)

It was a magical night! |
I'm sure we all remember our first self-planned activity - gadgeting! And who could forget cheeky Yin Ci in the reclining chair? :)
 |
Look how happy Yin Ci is!
|
I'm sure we all remember our very first Outdoor Cooking together. That was a really heartwarming dinner. It really is a blessing to be able to sit in a circle and share food you made yourselves straight from the wok with the people you love <3

With food and friends, who could be any happier? |
 |
We definitely poured much love into our food when we cooked together :)

I'm sure we all remember the highlight of 2015 - our annual YA camp! It was a short 2D1N camp but it was undoubtedly fun and memorable, and also a great start to the hectic year. Cooking a hearty dinner together, watching a midnight movie, sewing cute sock toys, playing ball games and not to forget making the structure on our batch tee come alive are just some of the memories I know we will always keep close to our heart <3
I'm sure we all remember welcoming our 9 lovely juniors into this small family, playing sports with them, having debates with them, celebrating Thinking Day with them, cooking with them, building structures with them and more. Really thankful for the bonding sessions we've had through our journey together :)
To the juniors, thank you all for being such a fun bunch to work with! All the best in your term of service and we're sure you will bring the chapter to greater heights in time to come. Most importantly, hope you all will continue to find joy in and put in your best effort in all that you do and never lose your guiding spirit :) May you all grow even closer to each other in the coming year and enjoy yourselves amidst the stressful JC life!
To the guiders, thank you very much for always supporting us and helping us in all that we do :) So grateful to have you all walk us through our entire guiding journey. Thank you for always welcoming us with your warm personalities and wide smiles, giving us invaluable advice and just being there for us!! We greatly appreciate you all, will always remember the lessons we've learnt and will miss you all so much! :)
And lastly, before I end, to my 10 batchmates, thank you so so so much for all the memories we've shared in the past 5.5 years. We've learnt so much and grown so much over the years, and it's heartwarming to see this good change in us. You all also taught me what it means to go through thick and thin together, and I'll always remember how we cheered at the top of our lungs even when going through the toughest physical training, and how we supported one another, from a simple "Jiayou!" to the other types of help we offered one another. This sisterhood is extremely special and I hope we will always cherish it. All the best for A levels and beyond, I know we'll get through these tough times together, just like how we've always done!
"There is no greater reward than working from your heart, and making a difference in the world"
This might be the end of our time in the chapter but I'm glad we started this journey together, and I hope we'll continue to do our best in striving for personal growth, bringing about positive change wherever we are, spreading joy and love to the people around us, and writing an even more exciting and fulfilling story together in the years to come.
Yours-in-Guiding,
